Text Methods Workshop:
O Shakespeare, Shakespeare!
July 9, 2007 - July 14, 2007
Hosted by University of Illinois at Chicago
Co-coordinated with Tanera Marshall
Text Methods Workshop: O Shakespeare Shakespeare is a unique and rare opportunity to study with three Master Shakespeare Teachers who will all be present at the 1 1⁄2 - 2 hour talk back session on July 14, 2007. The workshop consists of each Master Teacher exploring their method of teaching Shakespeare for two consecutive eight hour days for a total of almost 16 hours of direct contact with each Master Teacher.
This workshop is proud and honored to present three major Shakespeare teachers in the country: Robert Barton, Louis Colaianni and Neil Freeman. This workshop is truly blessed by their openness and willingness to share and discuss their experience with Shakespeare not only with participants but with each other in the talk back discussion at the end of the workshop.
The University of Illinois at Chicago has graciously agreed to host the workshop. Their beautiful campus is located just west of downtown Chicago off the 290 expressway and accessible to the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) subway system. The University is only a train ride away from many of the downtown Chicago attractions: Magnificent Mile, Water Tower, The Goodman, Steppenwolf and many other attractions too numerous to mention. The University is also accessible to O’Hare or Midway Airports by the CTA. The workshop ends each day at 5 pm leaving your evenings free to explore Chicago’s food, theatre and breathtaking views. Advanced Theatre ticket reservations are recommended.
